This class focuses on strengthening students' drawing skills and enhancing their artistic styles and creativity through colored pencil. All art styles and skill levels are welcome. In this " open studio" setting each student will work on their own projects with Cate's help and guidance . A drawing curriculum and a color theory curriculum will be available. Students will bring their own supplies unless they are beginners in which case Cate will guide them to the medium and supplies that will fit their needs.

Have you ever wanted to try drawing and/or painting or do you have experience but would like to take your artwork to the next level? Meet with Cate Robbins for individualized art instruction in small group studio settings. Cate has a Master's Degree in Painting from Texas Woman's University. This is a general study in painting and drawing that includes composition and techniques in a variety of mediums. Instruction is based upon each student's age, skill level, and goals. 
Classes are designed to introduce new students to the skills required to accurately render what they see and for the more advanced artist to gain some visual and creative practice in drawing and painting that will enhance any artistic endeavors. The class objective is to provide the "tools" necessary to draw and paint with confidence and to develop within the student the ability to see the world the way artists' see. From there, assignments lead the student to express their own individual creativity.
Supply needs for the class will vary according to the individual students' curriculum needs. Adults will provide their own supplies as needed for working in class and at home. Tuition for the full month is due at the first class of each month. Arrangements for missed classes are easily made up but are the student's responsibility to schedule.

LET’S MAKE CHRISTMAS CARDS

Workshop with Cate

COME JOIN THE FUN!!

In this workshop you will design and create a unique Christmas card design using collage, rubber stamps, paint, 2d mixed media, etc. Once the design is finished and dry, Cate will scan it into the computer and create a card sheet ready for printing and then print a proof. Next the image will be saved onto your flash drive allowing you to print out as many cards on your own as you want. Finished cards will fit standard envelopes.

This class is for children's 10+. It focuses on strengthening students drawing and painting skills as well as enhancing their artistic styles and creativity through a variety of art media like acrylics, watercolors, oil and chalk pastels, color pencils. All art skill levels are welcome - no experience necessary. The student will complete several fun projects throughout the semester that will develop and improve his or her drawing and painting skills. Classes are small only 8 students to give each student individual attention.
 
**Students will need to bring some supplies, but others will be provided by the teacher.
The supplies needed to be purchased by students: oil pastels, chalk pastels, watercolors, colored pencils.
You can contact me to ask where to get cost-effective supplies.

Thursday Acrylic Painting Class for Beginners : Ages 11-Adults (Ivona)

If you would like to start painting with acrylics, take this first level class with Ivona. Beginner-level students are welcome meaning painting skills are not necessary. You will be guided from the start to end of the process of your beautiful painting.  By the end of the semester, you will have wonderful pieces to show off, hang on your walls or give as valuable presents to those dear to you.

Projects are provided by the teacher which any beginner will be able to successfully accomplish.

 

All supplies, including brushes, paints, gesso, paper, and the printed reference photo will be provided. However, if you plan on painting on canvas, please bring your own.

 

The semester goes through September to May.

Taught by Renee F. Wrenwood, a prize winning local watercolorist and art instructor. She loves the medium and is happiest with a loaded brush in her hand.


Explore the basics of Watercolor: choosing the right brushes, paint and paper, mixing and applying paint, correcting mistakes, and saving the white of the paper. Experiment with exciting tricks and techniques; all in a non-stressful, fun environment. Students will create several finished paintings, while getting a good feel for a unique, enjoyable, and very beautiful medium. This class will run concurrently with the intermediate class.

Learn techniques to achieve your goals for your painting. Get suggestions on design/composition and focal point. Discover ways to fix a mistake or save a “ruined” painting. Loosen up and try new methods of painting.  Have fun with watercolor!

This ongoing class will encourage the creative spirit in artists of all skill levels.
