The lesson is $27.50 ($25 per hour tuition+$2.50 studio fee) for one person per hour + Clay . For additional people it will be $12.50 ( $10 tuition+ $2.50 studio fee) per person per hour + Clay. 

 

Classes need to be scheduled minimum for 2hrs. If it is just an one-time event there is additonal $25 charge as the artists would be spending time for processing of the art work( Glazing and firing).

Do something you have always wanted to do-learn how to throw on the pottery wheel to make your own bowls, plates and cups! Hand build boxes, sculpt animals and hang out with other potters every Monday evening. You'll love it! Families welcome!

*Tuition includes a monthly supply fee of $10 which the McKinney Art House will use to purchase ceramic supplies such as Glaze for pottery classes.

**A deposit of $50 goes towards the last 2 classes of your tuition. If you decide to stop the class at any time,  you must  notifiy no later than two weeks in advance else you will lose the deposit. We have a waiting list, in most cases, and/or turn people away because of limited space. Knowing you will discontinue 2 weeks in advance helps get your spot filled.

If you enjoy drawing in pen and ink, then this is the class for you! All levels of skill are welcome! We will be drawing different subjects each week of class. These subjects will range from animals, planes, cars, people and more in order to expose students to a wide variety of matter.
Students will be introduced to different drawing techniques, pen exercises, illustrative styles, and will learn how to draw objects from basic forms and thumbnails and turn them into finished illustrations. This will take place in a fun and relaxed environment!

This class is for ages 11-adult. It focuses on strengthening students drawing and painting skills as well as enhancing their artistic styles and creativity through a variety of art media like acrylics, watercolors, chalk pastels. All art skill levels are welcome - no experience necessary. The student will complete several fun projects throughout the semester that will develop and improve his or her drawing and painting skills. Classes are small only 8 students to give each person individual attention.
 
**Students will need to bring some supplies, but others will be provided by the teacher.

In this Open Studio your child will have the space to unleash his imagination and talents. Each student will have an individual instruction to work in his individual project. Drawing, Painting and MIx Media in an open time of three hours. Students can stay the three hours or come and work as long as their schedule allows them.

Ms Pinon classes are based in the TExES domains and competencies, following the curriculum and standards of the TEA.

The student will learn:

Art Perception—developing abilities to organize ideas from the environment.

Creative expression/performance—developing the ability to express ideas in original works of art.

Historical/cultural heritage—developing understanding of art from a variety of cultures and historical periods.

Ms Pinon comprehensive art curriculum will be conceptually based, sequentially developed and focused on both creative and critical thinking to enable students to become self-confident, self-governing, and contributing members of society.

Students will learn to make cups, bowls, and any other forms they can dream up, using various methods including throwing on the wheel and hand building with coils or slabs. This is a general study in painting and drawing that includes composition and techniques in a variety of mediums. Instruction is based upon each student's age, skill level, and goals. 
Classes are designed to introduce new students to the skills required to accurately render what they see and for the more advanced artist to gain some visual and creative practice in drawing and painting that will enhance any artistic endeavors. The class objective is to provide the "tools" necessary to draw and paint with confidence and to develop within the student the ability to see the world the way artists' see. From there, assignments lead the student to express their own individual creativity.
Supply needs for the class will vary according to the individual students' curriculum needs. Adults will provide their own supplies as needed for working in class and at home. Tuition for the full month is due at the first class of each month. Arrangements for missed classes are easily made up but are the student's responsibility to schedule.

Pottery experience with Celeste( Private class): Basic: One Time

This will be a one time 2hr session. We will go over the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. You will be able to create one hand build and one to two wheel projects based on time. I will be glazing with one color and putting them through the process of completion. The fee for this is added in the price below.

 

-You will pick up completed pieces on a scheduled date.

For one person this package will be $90

For Two people this package will be $130

-The last session will be glazing your products and that will be a 1 hr session. You will get to choose up to two colors unlike the basic one session.

Weekly Pottery experience with Celeste( Private class)

Weekly sessions-

This will be a weekly 2hr class and include instruction on different forms of creating with clay.

This will include hand build, slab work, molds and wheel.

This class includes up to two color options of glaze for each piece.

You will work with your piece from start to finish. Creating, trimming and glazing.

 

For one person this will be $65 per session + clay when needed

For additional person it is $98  per session + clay when needed

This is a minimum 2 months commitment.

Time for each session:

For 8-Adult class time is 2hrs.
