June 23rd-June 26th 10.00am -12.30pm Folklorez Summer Clay Camp ( Ages 8-16) $210 * Full, join our waitlist*
This 4-day program is thoughtfully designed to support children’s physical, mental, and emotional growth through a combination of hand-building, sculpting, pottery wheel experience, and creative painting.
Instructor: Diya Kalia
Clay is one of the most powerful tactile materials for children. When children work with clay, they engage their sense of touch in a deep and meaningful way, strengthening fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and muscle development. The act of squeezing, rolling, shaping, and carving clay builds physical strength and control in the hands. Mentally, clay encourages problem-solving, patience, and creative thinking. There is no single “right way” to work with clay, which allows children to experiment, make decisions, and learn through trial and error. Emotionally, clay is grounding and therapeutic. It allows children to express feelings, tell stories, and build confidence as they transform a simple material into something meaningful.
