Hi all you artists ready for summer fun! We have summer camps for the follow dates...NOTE: some dates will have more than one class listed so be sure to scroll down. Select the one you want, register and get ready for fun at the Art House.
June 8 - 12Summer Classical Art for Young Children - Session I class size limited Designed for young children, this unique curriculum introduces a
student to the basic elements of color and composition, 2D and 3-D, through
a variety of media, including paint (tempera), paper collage (inspired by
Matisse), clay, and block printing. Color mixing and composition are taught
through games and hands on experience. Masterpieces of art are introduced
with action games that stimulate memory response. The perfect followup is
“Classical Art for Kids” taught during the fall/spring sessions at the
McKinney Art House. Individualized instruction and advancement increases as
children continue through multiple sessions. In other words, if they love
art, don’t stop studying it! Time:

June 15 - 18Art Adventure Summer Camp - class limited to 10 students Art Adventure offers exciting art projects with quality results! Students can expect to create 6-8 pieces of 2D & 3D art. Projects include drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture and more! Children will learn new techniques and expand their creativity while making beautiful works of art. Children will feel comfortable in a non-competitive environment while receiving one-on-one guidance to insure success. Time:

June 15 - 19Jewelry - class limited to 8 students Different medium / different project each day. Learn basic jewelry techniques to make earrings, necklaces, pins, and rings. Supplies and instruction included. Time:

Kids Pottery Class - class limited to 6 students Cancelled (see her July 20-24 camp) Come join us this summer for a week of messy, creative fun with clay! We will learn to hand-build, slab roll, sculpt and throw pottery on the wheel. Please be sure to wear clothes that can get really messy! Time:

2nd Annual McKinney Art Walk Camp - class size limited This is the camp that showcases five artists and their studios in downtown McKinney. Students will make projects in clay, jewelry, printmaking, quilting, fused glass, and painted pottery. Time:

Clay Masquerade - Session 1 - class size limited Let your child enjoy a clay masquerade! We will teach your child to use their creative minds to make a mask, a pendant which they will string with beads, and a one-on-one lesson on the pottery wheel. We will serve snacks and drinks everyday, too! Time:

cave painter of Lascaux! Have fun with collage! Plant a French garden plant.

Art of the Orient - class size limited Learn Chinese brush painting. Write your name in Chinese calligraphy
and create origami birds! Plant an "art in a tub" Oriental garden. Anime,

Artistic August - class size limited Our full day option to ease those end of the summer blues. Held at the Historic Art House - artists Sona Knox, Lynne Hubner, Michele Stevens Bernard and a movement specialist will lead campers in clay, mosaics, printmaking, photography, newsletter publishing and physical activity.
